Zendo (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates a social-diary platform that enables users to share food reviews, recipes, and location check-ins. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard information when you access the Zendo mobile application (“App”). By using Zendo, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Personal & Social Content
When you create a profile or post content, we collect:
- Username, display name, and optional profile photo
- Food-review text, photos, ratings, and recipe data you choose to share
- Location data (venue name, GPS coordinates) when you perform a check-in
- Contacts you voluntarily import to find friends
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
To keep the App reliable and relevant, we collect:
- Device model, OS version, unique device identifiers, and crash logs
- IP address, language settings, and time zone
- Feature usage statistics (e.g., screen taps, session duration)
1.3 Third-Party Services
We integrate trusted third-party SDKs for analytics, performance monitoring, and location services. These partners may receive technical identifiers and usage data solely to help us improve the App. We do not allow partners to use your data for their own advertising purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to:
- Display personalized food and recipe recommendations
- Build social timelines and location check-ins
- Detect abusive behaviour and enforce community guidelines
- Monitor performance, debug errors, and roll out updates
- Respond to your support requests
We do not use your content or analytics data to serve third-party ads inside Zendo.

- To vetted service providers bound by confidentiality obligations

4. Data Storage & Security
Data resides on encrypted servers hosted in the United States with industry-standard AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Content you delete is removed from active servers within 72 hours and from backup systems within 30 days.
5. Your Rights & Choices
You may:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data via Settings ➞ Privacy Center
- Opt out of analytics under Settings ➞ Analytics
- Disable precise location access through iOS Settings
- Request a portable copy of your data by emailing support@zendo.com
6. Children’s Privacy
Zendo is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact support@zendo.com for immediate deletion.
7. International Transfers
We operate globally, so data may be transferred to countries with different data-protection laws. In all cases, we apply contractual safeguards confirming that your information receives at least the same level of protection required in the country where you reside.
8. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you through an in-app alert or email (if provided). Continued use of Zendo after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
